predecessor to both Lenus & Meru, here is Damia, the first blue sea dragoon and fatality during the epic battle in Kadessa. she’s a young woman — half human and half mermaid — with stunning rose eyes and glittering gold jewelry. in the concept art, she looks intense as if she’s peering into your soul and i tried to maintain this ethereal fixation!
i wanted to make her hair look like waves of water and i discovered a beautiful effect like an oil slick, an almost iridescent effect. i’ve improved the shape, texture and quality of my hair illustrations thanks to these lovely fanarts that i’ve been working on. i’ll borrow these tips for my next attempt at drawing Rose (or even Haschel, he’s got some nice dark hair, too).
